WWII Medicine Then and Now–Alan Tyroch, M.D., FACS, a professor and Chair of Surgery at Texas Tech University’s Paul L. Foster School of Medicine and the Trauma Medical Director at University Medical Center.  In a 1942 exhibition of war artists at the National Gallery of Art in D.C., Tom Lea’s paintings were the only ones showing the effects of bullets and shrapnel on the human body.  A not to be missed presentation for WWII buffs or those interested in medicine as Dr. Tyroch links the practice of medicine during WWII and the wounds shown in Tom Lea’s art.   Oct. 25 12:00- 1:00  Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Paul L.
